How to Install GCam Mod on Redmi Note 8 Pro

Redmi Note 8 Pro is one of the best camera smartphones in its price range. It comes with the 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor, which packs 38% more pixels than a 48MP camera which results in more detailed images.

To get the most out of this sensor, Wyroczen, a developer, has come up with a modified version of GCam for Redmi Note 8 Pro. This modded application works fantastic and highly compatible with Redmi Note 8 Pro. So in this article, we will show the complete step by step process to install GCam Mod on your Redmi Note 8 Pro.

What is GCam Mod?

Since the day Google Pixel series has been launched, Android phones have raised the bar for smartphone photography. We can say that Google Pixel has set the benchmark for other brands as well. On further investigation, it was found that the is nothing extraordinary with the camera sensors, the image processing is where the magic happens.

With that, Google Camera application or GCam has come into the light. Earlier GCam was an exclusive application for Android devices. Initially, all the Android phones running on Android 4.4 or above were supported but as of now, it only supports Google Pixel devices.

Luckily this camera application can be ported to other devices as well if they have the required Camera 2 API.

Features of GCam App

GCam App has loads of features. Out of many superb features, some are –

  • Accelerate image processing
  • It has HDR+ which is advanced High Dynamic Range imaging. HDR+ can take consecutive burst shots with short exposures.
  • You can take motion photos.
  • It has video stabilization.
  • It has the feature of smart-burst. This feature can take 10 shots in a second.
