All the Android phones are pre-loaded with Google Chrome browser and we use it for playing YouTube videos in the background. Here are the instructions.

  • Step 1: Open Google Chrome browser on your phone and visit Youtube.com.
  • Step 2: Tap on the three-dot icon at top-right to open the menu. Tap on the option called “Request Desktop Site”.
  • Step 3: As it’s a desktop site, you’ll see a long web page and you may not be able to see clearly. Just zoom in and tap on the video which you want to listen in the background.
  • Step 4: If you see any prompt like YouTube asking your permission for notifications, then accept it. Now, you can play the video in the background from the notification panel.
