While downloading YouTube videos using YTD video downloader I faced some error which displays “Failed (2). The video you have requested is not available”. Fix Failed (2) Error – The video you have requested is not available

There are two methods, the first it’s quite easy as it uses a program called CCleaner. This method is especially for noobs who are not much used to their computer. While if you are a geek and you usually play with your PC settings then the second method is for you.

Method 1 – For Basic Users :

  • So first we need to uninstall YTD Video Downloader. So go to control panel and select Programs and further click on Uninstall a program.

  • Now look for YTD Video Downloader and double click it to uninstall it.

uninstall YTD downloader

  • After it’s completely uninstalled, download and install CCleaner.
  • Once the installation is completed launch CCleaner and click on Run Cleaner.

  1. Been having trouble for the last 2 days. This is new. Yesterday it worked for 1 download and then no more. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still not working. I have tried your registry delete instructions, reinstalled and still not working. My computer is new using Windows10 and Chrome. What’s wrong with YTD Downloader? I’ve been using it for at least 3 years.

  2. all you need is just to delete the default in regedit save and after that to insert again the path in default and it will work. no unistalling needed…

  3. I have a newer version of YTD version 5.84
I try to delete the key and I am locked out from deleting it. Any ideas? also there is the default in the Greentree branck but then there is a subkey called YTD off of the Greentree key that has a default in it as well as other parameters. So you are talking about just the one default key in the Greetree key itself?

  4. I’m on version: 5.8.4 using Windows 7 Ultimate:
Tried method 1, completed all the steps, it seems to be working now, we’ll see how long until this issue comes up again, thanks!

  5. You simply need to “allow YTD to connect to internet” in your firewall settings. I tried manual register change above, it did not work. Nothing works until i changed my firewall settings to allow YTD to connect to internet.

You may be wondering just like me, that it used to work before? Well it used to work on one of my PC before, but stopped working suddenly. I checked my firewall settings, i realized my firewall was blocking, i didn’t know when/how my firewall started blocking it…best guess maybe after antivirus update.

  6. Like Bob T on 8 July 2017, I am unable to delete that Default key under GreenTree Applications: get an ‘Error Deleting Values’ message. Although YTD has been reliably working for a few years, today it started throwing the ‘Failed (2) Error’ to the request for downloading any video. I have already updated to the newest version (5.9.10), uninstalled and reinstalled it, tried the Registry editing (result as above), and nothing worked. Any further ideas?

  7. I reinstalled once before. When I did, I lost my paid version of multiple file downloader and it was replaced with a free single file version.

  8. I’ve uninstall and reinstall 3 times..I’ve cleaned the registry and it still doesn’t work any other suggestions

  9. You might still have some registry keys left.
Try using IO bit uninstaller to clean uninstall Ytdownloader, thrn reboot thr pc and install it again.

  10. This doesn’t work for windows 10, totally bogus. The adding the “Video Downloader” to the app through Firewall doesn’t work either. I can play the video on youtube in my browser, but YTD still gives the “Failed (2). The video you have requested is not available”. Perhaps as someone pointed out, Youtube and YTD are working together to prevent free downloads from Youtube. FYI Video DownloadHelper in my Firefox browser does the same thing, and all since the most recent updates.

  11. I wonder whether you get the error when youtube tries to play out an advert first, as it does sometimes – and YTD downloader can’t handle that.

  12. There are definitely a whole lot of particulars like that to take into consideration. That may be a great level to bring up. I supply the ideas above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions just like the one you convey up where the most important thing will probably be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged round issues like that, but I am positive that your job is clearly recognized as a good game. Both girls and boys feel the impression of just a second’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

  13. I used to use YTD and it was awesome. It’s been a while and figured my version was severely outdated, so I downloaded again, after much hassle from Malwarebytes, but I managed. Kept trying to download a video, for later conversion to mp3, and all I’m getting is download failure (2). Tried the CCleaner trick, uninstalled, ran CC all around, did not help, now just getting a plain ole failure. This sucks.

  14. I have tried uninstalling and cleaning my registry and reinstalling many times, and have had no luck in fixing the Failed (2) error I’m getting. On the PRO version it just shows up as a Failed. description as well.
I have also tried to edit the registry file like i have in the past to fix this problem, and am blocked from deleting the required file to fix the problem.
I thought buying another PRO licence would fix the problem as well, but no change either.
The only conclusion I have, is that the new windows update doesn’t allow any downloads from YouTube now. That, or they added a new encryption to prevent ‘stealing’ videos.
Plus I can’t find ANYTHING regarding a refund policy!

    • How do I request a refund?
Requesting a refund is very simple. All you need to do is to contact our support team here.

When can I ask for a refund?
In case you are not satisfied with YTD Video Downloader Pro, you can contact us within 30 days of your purchase to receive a refund.
Please note that unless the transaction was subject to a fraudulent purchase, refunds requested more than 30 days after your initial purchase date will not be processed.

How long does it take for the refund to be processed?
The refund should appear on your credit card statement within 48 hours after our email of confirmation. Upon receiving your refund you must uninstall or stop using any software products for which you no longer posses a valid, purchased license.
GreenTree Applications SRL reserves the right to disable any product keys and/or serial numbers issued to you for the refunded products.

    • I bought the Pro version of YTD Video Downloader and I received the “Failed (2). The video you have requested is not available.” I tried deleting the Default registry file in GreenTree Applications, and it didn’t make a difference. I downloaded 4K Video Downloader, and I used it to download the video I wanted. I like YTD Video Downloader. I hope they get their act together.
